Les Oliviers Villa and Apartment are situated on the outskirts of the village of Flayosc – and it’s only 15 minutes on foot to the centre of the village.
Flayosc is described as the ‘Première Porte du Haut-Var’.
It is a typically Provençal ‘perched village’ about 370
metres above sea level with fountains, shady narrow twisting streets
and a lovely 11th Century church with forged iron bell-tower. Unlike
many other Provençal villages, Flayosc is vibrant all year round
although particularly so in the summer when there is live music and
the bars and restaurants spill out onto the streets.
The village and the local area are famous for olive oil (there are 3 olive mills in or very close to the village) and for wine – both rosé and red wine can be bought at a very reasonable price from the local wine cooperative.
The village is well equipped with 2 small supermarkets, fresh fish shop, butcher, delicatessen, 3 bakers, chemist, 3 doctors, a dentist, bank, post office, gift shops, 4 bars which all serve food and (at last count) 8 restaurants! If you don’t want to, you don’t need to leave the village to do any shopping – you can live like a real Provençal villager.
